Retail research

BRIF Research Group has held retail research as of 2009. Throughout this period, we have conducted around 100 projects in cooperation with local and international companies. Such surveys are particularly important for FMCG-sector companies. To such companies, being efficient in retail is crucial. We help them build and improve their retail-related business processes.

Retail research is utilized to:

  • Understand market share or sales with regard to particular brands, goods or groups of goods
  • Understand competition level in retail
  • Understand the efficiency of a distribution network
  • Understand and optimize pricing policy
  • Build a product portfolio matrix
  • Improve advertising activities at points of sale
  • Understand product/brand availability at points of sale
  • As well as attain a lot of other goals

BRIF Research Group conducts the following kinds of surveys related to retail audit:

  • Retail census. A census of all points of sale at a certain residential location/region/country, along with registration of their main parameters (precise address, property type, size, profile, etc.)
  • Shop-check. Small, tracking surveys and quick surveys pertaining to main indicators of companies’ operation in retail.
  • Price-check. Collecting data on main stock keeping units sold by companies and their competitors.
  • Complete retail audit. A complex study. Often serving as grounds to many other surveys and analytical studies in retail.
